Saturday morning, if there is nothing planned, is ironing day for me - my favourite chore - NOT but Max the Mouse slayer had other ideas. I went to get a jug of water to fill the iron with and when I got back this is what I found.
He looked so settled I hadn't the heart to turf him off - Well it was a good excuse to stop ironing and do a bit of crafting. He He He

King For A Day
Just a quick post this evening. Although it was Father's Day last Sunday both my lads ignored it as usual - what is wrong with them! Barry wasn't bothered as he says it's all a big con made up by the card manufacturers to make you spend money. Anyway I saw that the theme on The ATC Challenge Blog is Father's Day so I made the following ATC and gave it to Baz - he was really chuffed (he is such a sweetie sometimes).

All Around my Hat
I made this tag several weeks ago the background is the old favourite of masking tape stuck on in small bits and the painted with the fantastic Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paints. The little girls' dress is stamped onto sticky backed canvas and then cut - out dots of multi medium we added and left to dry to act as a resist and then painted. The wings and hat are Grunge paper painted and then stickle glue added for bling.

A Grand Day Out
Well not so much a day more a morning diversion. We drove across to Skipton on Saturday and called at the Stampman as they we having an open day. I had booked in to take one of the make and take classes which commenced at 10.30am but Barry had a hospital appointment in Preston at 9.15am - the good news was the hopital was on time and after a quick dash we made it just in time for the class starting.
We made this lovely oriental wall hanging guided every step of the way by the lovely Michelle and Janet from Lovin' Ink. It is now hung on my craft room wall as I think it is lovely.
The bad news is that the Stampman has decided to closed their retail shop although they will continue to trade on the internet - it's sad news as another craft trader closes their doors. I wish them well in the future, Jill said they hope to be able to attend more craft fairs in the future but I will miss my trips to the Stampman - there was always a lovely welcome and you were guaranteed to find some treasure in their stock.

A Few Pictures
A couple of photos of Barry's 60th do. I'm useless at taking photos and these are the best of a very poor selection :-((
Here is a motley crew if ever I saw one -- Mark in the black top, Barry the birthday boy, (in his Martini shirt!) and Jock (yes - he is a Scot with an accent so thick you could spread it on toast).
This Mike (quiz player extraordinare), our buddies Ian and Jan (caught in the act of stuffing her face - my weight loss buddy !)
My contribution to the day a few vanilla cup cakes and a small fruit cake specially for Barry at his request. Believe it or not we managed to get 20 portions out of this cake - Barry was not happy as he wanted it all to himself. Ha Ha Greedy boy!!!!
And finally nothing to do with the birthday but a picture of Max the Mouse Slayer who is doing a great job of keeping the local wildlife under control I just wish he wouldn't bring it into the house to share with us.!
Back tomorrow with some new crafting to show you.
Thanks for calling.

AWOL
Guilty as charged I can’t believe I haven’t blogged since my birthday but I haven’t!!!
We have had a fairly hectic couple of weeks with Baz’s 60th Birthday slap bang in the middle. What started as a low key birthday turned into a great birthday bash! Baz’s Mum and stepdad travelling up from Kent for the weekend to spend time with us and we decided to have a BBQ (the weather was kind and the sun shone on demand). Son Number 2 arrived from the Isle of Man with his girlfriend - Son Number 1 came out of his bedroom and joined in the socialising which was great and all afternoon there was a steady stream of visitors calling and joining us in the garden until there was a great crowd of friends ready to party. A quick dash to the local supermarket to stock up on burgers, sausages and buns (we hadn’t planned food for the ravaging hoards) and this very impromptu party turned into a ‘bit of a do’ I hope everyone went home well fed and watered I know the best do’s are always the ones you least expect. Baz really enjoyed his birthday. I did take some photos but I haven’t downloaded them yet.
James and Angela stopped for a week - only going back home on this Tuesday (because it’s TT Week on the IOM the ferry was all booked up!) so we finally got the house back to ourselves and I can start crafting again.
