Unexpected Visitor!

I must tell you about an unexpected visitor we had the other evening. It was a really humid night and there were some really heavy rain - in fact it was so warm in the lounge we had the patio doors open trying to get a breathe of fresh air. It was about 10pm and we were watching the TV when suddenly something leapt through the door - it was a full grown frog Well Barry shot to his feet and tried to catch Freddie Frog but he doesn't like anything slimy (he has to wear rubber gloves if he has to prepare raw fish LOL). What followed was one of the funniest things I have seen in years. I think Baz has started a new sport of frog juggling! Eventually he managed to get Freddie out the door but 10 mins later the frog was back. We had to put him out two more times - it just seems that Freddie didn't like the rain either.

Over the weekend I have had a little play with my new Tim Holtz Mini Birdcage die and have managed to make a couple of ATCs. I love the size of these dies - just right for an ATC.
I would like to enter these into the ATC Challenges Blog - Household/Anything goes
and also Fun with Shapes and More - Anything but a card and By the Cute and Curly - Things with Wings

Something a little Different

I love to dabble in all crafts and have over the years kept going back to beading usually to make jewellrey but a few weeks ago I got a book called Wild Women by Sarah Lawrence which really hit the mark with me and ha set me off on another bead fiesta.

After a few false starts I finally got the hang of it and here is the very first effort of my Wild Women Pins. I know I need to work on the face but I so enjoyed playing with beads and embroidering them onto the fabric base. It's all a big learing curve and I was a bit intimdated by the fact there is no pattern to follow - you just create as you go along. But it is so liberating and I'm already planning the next one.

This is the back of the pin and I'm sorry the picture is so blurry but my camera wouldn't sharpen up the image - it just covered with black felt.
