It's Pumpkin Time

It's finally arrived and I had a great time at my mates house on Friday as we held the annual pumpkin carving evening. We all brought our pumpkins and various carving implements and as you can see from the photographs we had a brilliant time. Jan carved the fabulous witche's face, I carved the haunted hill and Emily carved the fantastic bat.

I also did another one at home yesterday and I will post pictures when I have worked out how to download off my new camera. Lol

More Halloween Projects

I have had a bit of a session with my Big Shot machine this last week I managed to get some great Sizzix Halloween dies in the sales last year and I decided to combine with a bit of stamping. I cut out a tombstone with one of the dies and stamped RIP with a Celtic Pixie Alphabet then I drew the cracks with a black pen, added some shading with Black Soot Distress Ink and stamped some grass along the bottom. I stamped the moon in the top left hand corner of the ATC and embossed with white embossing powder.

Pumpkin ATC

We are rapidly approaching my favourite night of the year - HALLOWEEN. You know when Ghosties and Goulies and Long Legged beasties prowl the night. I have already got my sweeties in for our Trick or Treaters and we usually have quite a few! My main problem is what to carve into my pumpkin this year!

Anyway just to start me off in the festive mood I have been playing with my Sizzix dies and made this little ATC with one of their pumpkin dies, The background is a Cuttlebug die which I swooshed (is that a technical term?) with one of the new Tim Holtz Seasonal Colours Ripe Persimmon before I ran it through my Big Shot. You get a different effect depending on whether you use the negative or the positive side of the stencil.

Owl post

Look what we found on Sunday at Windermere in the pouring rain. The Owls Centre were there with some of their owls and I fell for this beautiful Eagle Owl called Amber the same as the colour of her beautiful eyes. The guy asked me if I would like to hold her but I took one look at her talons and declined.
